5 and half years!

 I quit smoking 5 and half years ago! God has been good to me. I may be old but by gosh I'm a happy old!!!

Got my Buffs!

 Well I finally got 5 buff orpingtons! Those are my girls. I got Betty the barred rock,Penny that little bantam,Missy and Veronica ,buffs and the three sisters who atr also buffs. All are laying except Penny. Ended up catching covid in September and almost lost myself. But feeling better. I feel like everything will be fine here. Been just working away on this place. I still get brainfog and have to just wait for it to pass. I think about everyone who has lost a loved one because of this virus and I get sad and just want to hug them. It's nothing to fool around with. 

I'm getting into woodburning now. I'll post some pieces later.

I wish everyone well and hope we have a better year!

Bigger garden and more Chickens!

 Yeah I finally fenced in the garden, bought a bigger coup,more chickens,and very happy tired.

I lost Orion. I can't believe 13 years went by that fast. 

He passed away the 11th of July 2021
 

New ,better garden and chickens

 Well finally have made so much progress the homestead! I went and got some Barred Rock chicken but most are roosters. I still have 2 of my bantams,had to get rid of Rhodie. Got a new big coop for the birds and we fenced in the garden. 

Been exciting and getting tired is great. Yall know I've worked really hard at all of this.

Spring Garden

 I have broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower,stevia,artichoke,eucalyptus, lemon balm,sage,citronella going. I am very excited this year for a chance to grow things I usually wouldnt try. 

We did have 2 inches of snow last week. It was great. Ollie( big dog) this was his first snow. He was so excited to play in it. 

I shut down Facebook and Twitter but kept my Instagram. It may be the next to go. I'm ok with it. 

Still haven't gotten around fencing in the garden but soon. I did get the 275 gallon IBC tote for water.Setting it up this weekend. I do have to install the gutter and downspout .

Kohlrabi

 Well I have alot of updates. Things have been getting better. I got my onion seeds planted last night and under the grow light.

I have a new phone and my laptop went wonky so trying to post pictures will be a challenge . So I have no idea how to do it. Anyway the kohlrabi are growing,the cabbage are doing well and today I'm going to look at a 275 gal. water tote for our water. So til I figure out how to paste pictures,they'll  have to wait. 

Maybe Tennesse

Two places I said I've always wanted to live, Colorado or Tennessee. Colorado is so expensive now.Well there may be an opportunity  to move to Tennessee in a couple of years. I say a couple cause there are some things to get done here.Looking at Savannah Tennessee and  it's along the the Tennessee river. I've talked to someone already up there and he said it's a really good town to live in. So as soon as I can get things together like tune up the truck going to take a road trip.

Also I have always wanted to open a trading post,just a post without using money. I think that would be good and it would help people too. I sound corny don't I? It's something to ponder.

Ok on to something cool. I'm making a makeshift Berkey water filter. I watched a video of how to do it and it would save me a lot of money.Two buckets and filter with spout. I can't wait. Also I'm looking into a woodburning stove. If this Tennessee move comes,going off grid is a big possibility.Save a ton of money. I'm getting a nice size camper/RV to live in til I can figure something about a cabin. Yes he will be there to help with all this.Long story but he got a dose of reality.

I am looking for ideas,people who have done this. The land I looked at online(and still may get if the payments are low enough) come next year, I'd be a fool not to snatch it up. The land is unrestricted which means I can park my camper on it without interference.The one I looked at has a space for a garden and plenty of timber. I'll be fun and to get away from this place. Savannah looks to have some recreation for a couple of old farts. I'm done with this place. It needs some TLC which I don't have the money to give it now.So I'll be selling to whoever has the patience.I'll sell as is.

I had an abundance of chocolate mint this year too.
